GradFest Aftermath
We showcased our augmented reality (AR) experience at Grad-Fest, which was a success.
We received great feedback from students and a couple of followers on the Emerging
Media production instagram. The excitement from students encouraged our team to make
our experience as interactive and immersive as possible.
360 Camera
After Gradfest, we rented out a 360 camera from the Creative Marker Studio at CSUN, to
use to capture a 360 environmental image of different well-known locations on campus.
Our goal was to have a specific section on our app that viewers could tap on and it will take
them to an option page where they can pick which location on campus they would like to
visit. The immersive factor will be that viewers will find themselves placed in 360 view in the
location they chose.
Graduation Cards
Over the past week, we have been busy creating more of our graduation cards, which are
designed to resemble graduation caps with tassels. Each card features a QR code that we made in the form of stickers. Our team ended up completing about 480 cards that are
ready to be given away to students on May 1st, at our table event.
Buttons & Fonts
In the past few days, we have been developing a set of different designs for the buttons
and fonts that will be found in our AR graduation app. We hope that the set of buttons and
fonts we choose fit the color palette that has been shown throughout the experience. We
also had to fix a couple of buttons that appeared cut off in our experience or we simply had
to create new ones due to some of the changes we made to our app. Here are some
examples.
Table Event
Our group’s next step is to distribute our cards that have QR code to our Beyond The Tassel
project. We designed a couple of different flyers that we would like to use to announce our
event. Here are our latest designs.
