Memory Lane allows users to revisit multiple 360° virtual environments from around the CSUN campus. Users can experience: •The CSUN Library interior and entrance •The duck pond & orange grove •The Matador statue •The Soraya Performing Arts Center •The campus fountain Each location was selected based on student feedback as emotionally resonant spaces; places where people studied, relaxed, performed, or met friends. These immersive memories help users reflect on their college journey and visually mark the places that shaped who they’ve become.

This scene begins with digital sticky notes slowly falling around the user like confetti. Each note displays a quote from a CSUN alumni; real advice, encouragement, and honest reflections from those who’ve already walked the same path. At the center of the scene is a large interactive sticky note that users can flip through. The final note asks: “How has your journey shaped the person you are today and the person you strive to become?” This powerful moment encourages introspection and allows users to engage with the values, wisdom, and community that have built them. It is our digital “passing of the torch”, an emotional but uplifting sendoff rooted in empowerment.

This scene presents a highly detailed 3D model of the CSUN Library lawn, the iconic location of the university’s graduation ceremonies. Using your phone or tablet, you can project a virtual stage with chairs into your space, giving users a visual preview of the event ahead. This anticipatory scene is designed to reduce anxiety and increase preparedness. Families unfamiliar with the ceremony layout can explore it ahead of time, and students can visualize walking the stage. We interviewed students who expressed stress about the unknowns of graduation day. This scene responds to those concerns with clarity and visual grounding.

Begin with a 3D animated gift basket that floats in your real-world space. When tapped, the basket bursts open with colorful confetti and celebratory sparkles. This joyful moment is designed to mirror the feeling of opening a real graduation gift or receiving a surprise from a loved one. In alignment with the Marilyn Magaram Center’s emphasis on wellness and positive mental health, this scene sets a lighthearted tone that reminds users to celebrate their accomplishments with pride and self-kindness. It is especially powerful for students who may not be able to attend graduation in person, offering a way to celebrate no matter where they are.
